Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico and is an American-Mexican actress. She also sings. Sara Ramirez was brought up by an American mother, and faced a lot racial taunts that led her to feel unwelcome. When she attended a 9th grade school audition in which she received praises for her voice and acoustics, she began to gain confidence. The experience not only increased her confidence, but it altered the direction she pursued in her professional career. She graduated from the New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. At the age of 23 she began her career making her debut at the Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films with You've Got Mail. In the Broadway first production of Spamalot she portrayed The Lady of The Lake and won both the Tony Award as well as high praise from critics. The following year, she was cast as Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her gaining wider fame. She is known as a performer and has also released a single as well as an extended show. In her role as an activist, she is a tireless advocate for LGBT equality.
