Ashley was born in San Clemente, California on February 10, 1987. Prior to leaving for Hawaii and beginning to surf, she first started surfing at the age of five old. In the year 2006, she was able to win an event in surfing using a piece of board found in a garbage can. When she was 5 years old, she began to surf and by the age of 6 she won her first event.
